Life is busy…

Since my last post, not a whole lot has happen in my life that is worth writing about. Fortunately, we both remain health and functional for the most part. I got an “excellent” report from my Celiac doctor again this year and I don’t see her again for 18 months. I wonder why I go since I know I’m doing well, never cheat on my diet, and I seldom have any issues to even mention…for that I’m grateful and thankful…but she wants me to come in just to stay within the UK system. She said once you drop out, it’s often hard to get back in.

We did do something entirely different this last Sunday. Jerod and Rebekah attend a church in Lexington and they had a blessing event for pets. The priest gave a blessing to all the different pets and reminded us that we are to appreciate, and value, each animal. There was one cat, in a carrier for its protection, a rabbit, one hamster, and many varieties of dogs. It was sweet and most of the pets behaved rather well and it was a beautiful fall day.

We have been able to see Jackson and Nolan play T-ball a couple of times and that is so cute. They are both doing well, considering their ages, and the best part of every game is getting the treats at the end. Only a few more games and their season will be over. I do believe the parents will be glad for that since it’s getting cooler and the days are shorter. Busy families have limited free hours each day so they are all ready to free up some of those hours.

We are still planning on going to Florida this winter in spite of the horrible hurricane that hit that area of Florida. Our unit received some damage to the “shed”, where the washer/dryer is located, one window was broken in the guest bedroom, and some lattice work was blown off…it was previously damaged last year while we were there due to some heavy wind… but that appears about all. I am concerned about any mold that might have been growing since our landlords won’t be down until the middle of November. It doesn’t appear that water got inside but with the window broken, etc. there is a definite possibility. For health reasons, we don’t want to have mold issues causing us lung issues for the rest of our lives.

Carter is currently in Florida doing some relief work and he’s not far from the area we go each winter. He said he’ll drive by and see if he can get a feel for what the unit is really like. Pray for him, and all the crew he’s serving with, as they continue to repair, remove trees, etc and then as they travels back home later this week.

Guess that’s it for today. Got to get out and get my walk in before the rain arrives. Going to get some rather COLD weather in a few day and that is not to my liking. Oh well, we have a warm home so we’ll survive. Have a great rest-of-the-week and you are loved.

Blessings……
