Finally….

We were awaken…and I might add rather rudely…around 3:30 this morning to a very loud thunderstorm.  Because of being awaken, Pal…Melissa’s dog that is visiting us this week…thought that would be a perfect time to go pee.  Really???  So I let him out and he quickly does his business but he is now soppy wet.  So here I am at 4 in the morning drying off a “stinky” wet dog that sleeps in his bed in our room…glad he was willing to go back to sleep.  Today we are being blessed with a constant rain, that we desperately needed, so I will just say…thank you, Lord, even if it means we have a “stinky” wet dog on hand.

Not much has been going on around here for us and I guess that’s a good thing.  We did see a couple of pictures of Clark & Vanessa’s remodel that’s currently going on and it’s looking so nice.  We’ve also gotten some from Allison showing their remodel and what a difference that’s making for them, too.  Both homes were beautiful before, but they are now spectacular!!!  Looking forward to seeing the completed make overs in the future.

Meredith has had a rough week as she was involved in a car wreck the other day.  She was NOT at fault and, thankfully, was not hurt.  She was driving down the road and the guy driving the garbage truck decide to turn right out of the left turning lane just as she got along side of him and slammed into her car.  We haven’t heard how bad the damage is but Meredith thinks it will be totaled.  She does have several ugly bruises but that’s all.  The guy right behind her was very helpful to her and confirmed to the officer that the guy was at fault.  She’s one busy girl and is involved in lots of things…works, volunteers, interns, babysits, etc. and really needs transportation every day.

The Gabehart’s are at the beach and having a great time as the waves have been unusually big and fun to play in.  They will be back in Louisville sometime Saturday evening and will get the dog sometime on Sunday.  He’s a good dog but misses his family…guess we’re a little boring and not near as fun as those kids are with him.

School will be starting in just a couple of weeks and the kids are ready to get back…for the most part.  Meredith said she’ll get to sleep in and is looking forward to that.  Most mornings she’s up and at ’em by 5:30…too early for me.  Jerod is ready to get started at Lipscomb and looking forward to all that entails.  Kyle will be back at WKU and, also, ready to hit the books again.  Lacey graduates from the police academy on August 5th and she’s really ready for that day.  Please pray she’ll remain safe on those not so safe streets in Louisville.  Sean will be having a birthday tomorrow and I can’t believe our first grandchild is so OLD!  Happy, happy birthday to him.

Have a great week-end and enjoy the not-so-hot-and-humid days.  Summer has been a hot one this year and it won’t be over for another six weeks, or so, but it’s been fun.  I’m so glad my sister is almost finished with her radiation treatment…just a couple more to go…and she can now heal from having had those treatments.  She’s a real trouper and has not complained once!  Time to get back to my crocheting.  Love to you all.

Blessings…..
