Happy New Year 6 Days Late…

Here we are in not so sunny Florida for over a month now and we’ve only gotten 4 beach days. The cooler temperatures, strong winds, along with rain have definitely been an unusual month for us. The rain is really needed here as they got so little during their over-the-top HOT summer so I will not complain. That is, unless it last for several days in a row.

It has been good catching up with our “Florida” friends and getting reacquainted. We, also, had some friends from home visiting with us during that time and they fit right in…lots of food, laughs, and just conversation. We invited 14 people to come to our place for New Years Eve and 10 were able to make it…one couple was sick and the other had company. Since we are all old, they were all headed for home by 10:15, or so. New Year’s celebration comes early once you get our age, I guess.

Even though we haven’t done a lot of different stuff, each day seems to get filled and goes by quickly. Most days we read, walk, visit, go see the sunset at the beach, knit, cook, and clean only when necessary, and just enjoy being here. We don’t know how many more years we’ll be able to come down but we’re praying for a few more.

The most exciting thing to happen, so far, was the transmission went out on our car and it was going to cost around $10,000 to get it fixed. Needless to say, that was way more money than we wanted to put into our 7 year old car that had over 120,000 miles on it. Therefore we had to go car shopping and bought a new-to-us 2021 Sorrento (KIA) with 23,000 miles on it along with all the bells and whistles you’d ever want or need. It was the best deal for us and our first to buy a non-Ford vehicle in over 50 years. I really hated to have to get a different car but it was necessary. George want us to trade in the car a year ago and I resisted butt guess I should have listened. Oh well, such is life.

Guess that’s all for now. Hope, and pray, all are well, happy, and going to enjoy 2024 each and every day. Love to all.

Blessings…..
