Almost Time To Go Home…

These last three months have gone by so fast and I can honestly say, it’s been great in spite of the weather. We are finally getting some very nice beach days and less days of the extreme winds, rain, and cold we’ve endured the last couple of months. Regardless of our unusually cold time here, it was so much better than most of the time back in Kentucky.

We’ve enjoyed several meals with friends in each others homes, lots of good conversations, many daily miles walked here in the park, a few miles walked on the beach, lots of books were read, and just plain relaxing days leaving us with so many fond memories. We are truly blessed and thankful.

We have met a special lady at the beach while viewing a sunset one evening and she has been a true joy. Her name is Liana, she’s 85 years old, and has a dog named Daisy. We met regularly, most evenings, until she was no longer around. I finally found out that she had fallen. When she fell, she had broken her artificial hip which in turn crushed her femur on her right leg. By the time we learned all of this, she had had her surgery to replace the hip, rods (?) to replace the femur, and was in a rehab facility not far from us…no weight on that leg for six months. She is in good spirits but said she can no longer live alone, has no family close by…only daughter lives three hours away…but has a friend that said she’d come live with her. This lady was a former caregiver so, Liana, feels she’ll be in good hands once she can go home, but not sure what will happen with Daisy. We have missed seeing her at the beach but we have visited her at the rehab facility and will continue until we leave. She was hoping we’d be back before next year, but that won’t happen. We will pray for her and remain in touch with her through the phone and the internet.

Melissa’s and Byron are still on their cruise but it will end in the morning when they get back to Ft. Lauderdale. By all appearance, they have had a good time and enjoyed their first experience of cruising. Carter and Lori are still in New Mexico and have had a good time there with her family this month. They will leave for home the second week of March. As for the other family members…Tori and Kevin welcomed their second daughter, Zoe Ann, to this world yesterday and she is precious…the twins continue to keep Scott and Allison busy…Clark and Vanessa are always busy with the store and seem to love it…Tanya and Daniel are loving their new role of grand parenting. Life is busy but the blessings are so abundant. No news is good news on all the others.

The sun is shining bright today so a nice walk is on the agenda, coffee with a friend in a few minutes, and another day to feel blessed and thankful. Not much else to write about so until I get back on here…stay well, do something fun, and enjoy another day. I love you all.

Blessings….
