Three birthdays this week…

July is a busy month and we get to celebrate several special people’s birthdays along with our country.  We started this week off by celebrating Kyle and Allison’s special day on Sunday, Jesse on Monday, and Jerod will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday.  Time really does just fly by.  Kyle is now 21, Allison is aging gracefully, Jesse turned 2, and Jerod will be 20 tomorrow.  That really seems impossible that both Kyle and Jerod are no longer teenagers.

We enjoyed the 4th with a lot of people at the Stryker’s…they roasted a whole pig and it was great…but we left before they did their fireworks show.  We watched a spectacular show from our front porch as RJ Corman really did a great job this year.  We enjoyed (?) listening to neighbors fire their stuff off until midnight, so I’m glad that’s all over for now.

We were suppose to go to Scott and Allison’s for the 4th but due to some plumbing problems at the “blue house” we’ve had to postpone our visit until the 21st.  The problem is currently fixed, but we will be replacing the shower stall in the smaller bathroom later this year.  The house is old and things are wearing out…aren’t we all…so we’ll just keep plugging along.

The Kentucky humidity has really been expressing itself the last few weeks and we are now using the AC every day…bummer.  I love having my windows up vs. AC running.  Oh well, these hot, humid, hazy summer days will be over before I’m ready so I will not complain.

I’m going to lunch with Meredith today and looking forward to spending a few hours with her.  She’ll be headed to Lipscomb soon and she’s so ready to get started there.  We’ll sure miss having her around here but so happy for her as her life is unfolding.  She and Jerod will both be there, Kyle will be a junior at WKU, and all the other grands will continue on with whatever they are doing.  We are excited about having two great-grandson’s joining our tribe this December.  Sure hope we’ll get to spend some time with them.

Guess that’s about it for now.  Enjoy the rest of the week, sing happy birthday to Jerod tomorrow, and stay cool.  Love to you all.

Blessings….
