We need warm weather

Yesterday was Jim’s Happy Birthday and we failed to call, or text, but we did think about him and talked about it.  We do hope it was a good day and spent traveling to Mexico for a fun week there with some long time friends.

We have had a couple of nice days here but winter returned yesterday afternoon while George and Ron were out fishing.  As usual, they caught nothing but had a great time trying.  Jean and I were able to solve all the world’s problem while they were out and then we went out to eat BBQ. Yum!

Today winter has really showed up.  Got up to 31 degrees…almost never gets that cold around here…and we’ll not get higher than the mid 50’s and, of course, the wind is blowing strong to make it feel quite cold, but the sun is shining.  The weather continues to be 20-30 degrees below normal but still better than Wilmore so I’m thankful to be here.

Our “Park” is one busy place this morning as this is the start of their BIG yard sale.  Boy, oh boy, do they have the junk to sale.  It’s amazing they have collected that much stuff in just one year.  Wonder where they kept it all?  I think some must just rotate their furniture as they bring some in and take some back home with them.  It’s their biggest means of fund raising for here and they do quite well from all indications.  Sure glad we don’t have to help.  I still do not like yard sales, etc. but this one brings in lots of $$$ for the park so guess it’s worth it and helps keep the cost down for the residence.  The new pool they were building last year is super nice so I’m sure this is helping with the cost of that along with all the landscaping.

Not much is going to happen today with the windy weather so guess I’ll get a lot of reading done…or crochet some baby hats for the hospital.  It’s not much different that what I’d be doing at home so life continues on.

Still praying for Jerre and looking forward to getting an update soon.  We will be having dinner with Teresa and her family next week and looking forward to that…sweet family!  Pray Linda and Jim will have a good time in Mexico and remain safe…hearing some areas don’t like Americans.  Imagine that!  Jerod leave for Chile on Sunday for this next semester of school and he’s excited about that and all the opportunities there.  Guess that’s all for now as that’s about all I know to share.

Love to you all.

Blessings
