What a difference a week makes…

It will be a week, tomorrow, that we left sunny Florida for gloomy and cold Kentucky.  I do admit that we’ve had a couple of days of nice weather…in the high 50’s to the low 60’s…but not today.  When we got up at 6:30 this morning, it was a balmy 41 with a high today of 41.  WHAT?????  That’s not encouraging and then to see a low of 27 is just over the top.  Of course, they keep tossing that “snow flurry” phrase around but surely that’s a joke.  It is March 6th after all.

Because it’s March 6th we get to celebrate the birth of grandson Chance.  He lives close by, but we seldom get to see each other, has a beautiful wife, two precious boys, and a good job.  We celebrate his life and thank God for him.  Happy, happy birthday to Chance.

We’ll be going to Nashville on Tuesday to see my California cousins we haven’t seen since the 1990’s.  Judy, Cathy, and Ferddie (Cathy’s husband) are Uncle Lloyd and Aunt Betty’s daughters.  They decided they wanted to come to Nashville so we’re going to do the cousin thing for a couple of days.  Tuesday night we’re all going to the Grand Ole Opry and it should be fun for all of us.  They have other things they want to do but I’m not just sure what all that entails.  It will be fun just catching up in the evenings…or whenever.

Speaking of Nashville…what devastation from the tornado that hit this week.  So many lives lost, homes and business’s destroyed, and just total turmoil for so many.  Time, money, and lots of hard workers will replace the damage but the lives are forever gone.  So very sad.

Guess that’s about it for now.  Love to all that are still reading this “grandma blog” and staying up to date on our ho-hum life.

Blessings…….
