Surprise…I’m back

Has it really been three months since I posted anything on here? It seems as though it has and I’m speechless. How did that many months fly by so quickly? Oh well, there really hasn’t been a lot to write about so I guess I just forgot.

We were sad to have to say a final good-bye to Allison’s mother as she passed this life after a brief illness this past June. It’s been really hard for Don, Allison, Terry, and Don Thomas because her death was rather unexpected. Don has had very poor health, since before her passing, and that has just continued to get worse. He and Sue were married for 61 years and he can’t seem to function very well without her. I will continue to pray for him.

Up until the last couple of weeks, we’ve had a very pleasant summer. The current week is by far the hottest week we’ve had…each day will be in the upper 90’s and into the triple digits. One week out of the entire summer makes it not to be so terrible. So much of our country is having so much extreme heat, tropical storms, fires, etc to deal with that I find it hard to complain about our current heat situation.

We are thankful that Dwayne, Vanessa’s dad, is doing much better and back at home. He still has a long ways to go towards getting all his strength back, being in better health in every way, and doing what the doctor’s are telling him to do. I do think he’s trying…at least part of the time.

All the school kids are back in school…Jerod is in his final year of med school, Rebekah is on track for her PhD, Meredith is in her final year of law school, the twins are in the 7th grade and doing well in their school work and sports, Madi passed cosmetology school,Tyler completed all his hours for becoming a pilot and will start his new job in just a few weeks. We have babies due this week…Jerod/Rebekah is due today but we’ll see, Chance/Emily will have their 3rd son Thursday, and Kyle/Gabby will have their first son December 3rd…or there about. Such exciting time for everyone.

Last week we made a quick trip to Jackson, TN for the funeral of Ronnie Arnett, Jim’s big brother, and that was a very meaningful service. We enjoyed seeing all the Arnett’s along with LL&B. It was a quick trip and we were bushed when we got home.

Guess that’s about it for now. Going on a walk with my man since it has cooled down to 88. Have a great rest-of-the-week, you are all loved, and I miss you more than you know.

Blessings….
