Almost time…..

After a really fun Thanksgiving at Melissa and Byron’s we are ready to head to the beach. Once the cold weather hit Kentucky we started counting the days until we could hit that L-O-N-G road to warm days, cool nights, sunshine, beach time.and that’s all happening in Venice, Florida.

We will leave home on Monday, November 29th, as soon as George gets home from his final doctor’s appointment for this year…hopefully. So far he’s gotten a good report from each doctor and we’re expecting this oncologist to do the same. We have decided to go the back roads vs the interstates for the first time ever…per the advice of a couple of friends that travel to the same area. By doing that we will avoid Atlanta completely and only add a little extra time to our trip. We’ll be taking our time to get there…don’t want to over do…and each day will be only about a six hour drive. Two nights on the road so we won’t be exhausted when we get there. We will stop every two hours to get out and stretch our legs to keep the blood flowing and avoid future health issues.

Back to Thanksgiving…Melissa and Byron had a house full and we had almost as much food left over as we had managed to eat. Byron fried three 13 lb. turkeys so we had tons of meat. We, also, had dressing, giblet gravy, mashed potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Cranberry/Apple salad, squash casserole, green beans green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, apple crisp, key lime pie, plus plenty of different kind of beverages. The guest list consisted of Melissa, Byron, Kyle, Gabby, Tyler,Pam, Stacy, Adrianna (Byron’s sister, cousin and her daughter), Carter, Lori, Tanya, Daniel, Meredith, Colton, Blake, Grayson, George and I. Several others stopped by for a quick visit and to grab a bite to eat. Everyone was welcome no matter how long they could stay, Sheila and her family came down with COVID so they didn’t come. Donna and her family stayed home to do their own Thanksgiving. Jerod and Rebekah were in Tennessee with her family. We played some games after dinner and that was fun. It reminded me of some of the Thanksgivings we had in our home all those many years ago. There’s nothing like family and we are certainly blessed with some of the best.

Guess that’s about it for now. I’ll be back in touch once we get settled into our Florida place. Praying we will stay safe and well these three months away from home. Love to any and all reading this. I love you much.

Blessings…….
