Interesting thought for today!

I’m currently reading a book by Angela Thomas called “Do You Think I’m Beautiful” and thought I’d share one of her thoughts with you.  She said…

“Where is it written that what the world calls beautiful is correct?  Where is it written in Scripture that God takes instruction from us?  Where is it written that man can understand the heart and mind of God?  Nowhere.  In fact, God makes it very clear that He does not think as we do:  “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.  As the heavens are highter than the earth so my ways are higher that your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9).   Why do we have such a hard time believing that God would look at an ordinary or disfigured woman, and call her beautiful…”

Why do we let the world dictate how we feel or act?  We are all beautiful in God’s sight!  Let’s quit letting our society dictate who they think we should become.  God has a plan for our life; so, let’s live it out all the while giving him all the praise and glory for it.

Glad your retreat went so well, but when God’s Word is being taught it always does. Isn’t it wonderful He gave you a beautiful place to do it in also?

I can’t have Java with Jesus, as I don’t drink coffee. So mine will have to be milk, but an hour after I get up.
I take my thyriod pill first thing (or I forget) and have to wait an hour before having any Calcium. In this hour however, I try to thank the Lord for a good nites rest, to be with my family and friends, and then read a Psalm. I find there is always one that seems to fit my day, at that time.

Refreshing the spirit is always a good thing. We are a small congregation and try each month to fellowship with a pot luck after services. We are all spread out over N.W. Iowa, but this works.
Much like the first church we need to edify one another.
Glad you are able to do this with women of like faith.
    Love you!!

Quite a few years back a woman in my Bible class said she took the book of James and would read a sentence and then pray. She went thru the whole book this way and I tried it.
For instance ,James 1:2,3, Consider it joy, my bretheren, when you encounter various trails, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
I would then thank the Lord for trials and ask Him to be with me when I encounter them and for more faith.
I went thru the whole book this way stopping and praying. After I finished (in one sitting) I was so full of the Word, and felt closer to God. Him talking to me thru His Word, and I asking for help etc and thanking Him for the blessings. You might try it someday. Made me feel so clean.

Course my all time favorite scripture is John the 14th chapter. I did not realize until Daddy died, it was his favorite too.
    Have a good day.
    Love ya, WJ
