After several days of near perfect weather…no AC, windows open, and pleasant temperatures…we are now with HIGH humidity and sweating in the upper 80’s. It is June 22 so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.
Yesterday was Father’s Day and it was a great day. George was able to talk with all our kids, Tanya brought him breakfast on the front porch, we churched on the porch…very good…, and finished the day at Tanya’s for dinner. Melissa and Byron drove over, all the Crockett’s but Meredith, and George and I were there and we self distance by eating outside. We had smoked chicken, pork ribs, hot dogs, lots of sides, and ended the meal with key lime pie, cookies, and/or buttermilk pie. It was a very relaxed and fun time and we are so thankful for all our children and the love they continue to show us.
Not much happening with the blue house. We are getting some “one-nighters” but not much else. People are still not traveling like they normally would so no need for the house. Lexington is still doing some protesting downtown and Louisville continues to try and destroy their downtown. It’s so sad that people have been treated unfairly for so long but all the destruction, and out right hatred, will not heal all those deep seeded wounds. Not sure these wounds will ever be completely healed so all I can say is “Lord come quickly”.
Since not much is happening i guess there’s nothing to write about. We, thankfully, are still doing well and continue to self-distance ourselves and wear our mask. Much love to any reading this and I pray for all of you often. Enjoy your week.
