Turkey day is near…

Here it is two days before Thanksgiving and what an unusual Thanksgiving this will be.   For 28 straight years we had nearly all of my extended family come, and stay, for Thanksgiving… the memories of those days will last throughout our lives.  Our small house would be packed to the top with people…most years we’d have no less than 23 that would come on Wednesday and leave on Sunday…we only had a 3 bedroom house, with a basement, so a lot of us got to enjoy sleeping on the floor.  We ate lots of food, played many games of 42, the ladies shopped on Black Friday, and we all enjoyed the noise, laughter, and some tears.  This year most everyone will remain at home and enjoy whatever Thanksgiving meal they fix.  We’ll be looking forward to next year and praying for a time of togetherness here in Wilmore.

We feel blessed to have avoided the virus thus far and pray we continue to do so.  We will be headed to Florida on December 16th and will be doing the same thing there we do here…staying at home.  At least it will be warm so we’ll get to be outside again and we will be doing the beach distancing, too.  There will be no eating at restaurants, movies, entertaining our Florida friends, etc. but we will be warm.

We did have two birthday girls, and one guy, this month…Vanessa had her special day and Jerre enjoyed his in a heavenly way.  Vanessa, I’m so glad you are one of this tribe and may you continue to have many more happy birthdays.  Our second birthday girl was Rebekah…Jerod’s wife…and she enjoyed her special day on Kyle’s wedding day.  There again, I’m glad you’re one of this clan.  Lacey has changed jobs and is now an officer in Wichita, KS.  Louisville remains unsettled and the safety of all officers there is very limited.  I sure was glad to hear she moved and will no longer be fighting those endless happenings that’s been going on for months on the streets of Louisville.  Kyle and Gabby had a beautiful wedding and enjoyed a week long honeymoon in Mexico.  They are now back at home and getting back to reality.  They are a sweet couple and I pray their marriage will be filled with much happiness.

Since we do nothing, there is nothing to share about us.  I do pray for all of you every day to stay well and enjoy Thanksgiving in this most unusual time.  I love you all.

Blessings….
