April is here!

Time for my “monthlly” blog posting….

Here it is April and these last few days have been amazing….warm and sunny, along with a slight breeze. We know there are still some colder days wanting to sneak back in, but I do believe that OLD MAN WINTER may be gone for now.

Spring is so pretty here in central Kentucky with all the blooming trees, flowers, and the green grass. My allergies are not as impressed with all of these trees and flowers so there seems to be a lot of sneezing, coughing, and nose blowing happening for now. It is nice to get in a nice walk most days and not be cold or having a heat stroke in the process.

I had my 18 month checkup this morning with my Celiac doctor and I’m good for another 18-24 months. She said my blood work was excellent and she can tell that I never cheat on my eating. I remember what it felt like when I did eat gluten so I don’t think it’s worth the pleasure of eating all those good gluten filled foods. I will always miss good bread and pastas though.

George is still waiting to get an appointment with the oncologist to discuss the treatment plan for his Prostate cancer diagnosis. The waiting is always hard and I want it all taken care of “yesterday”. They may not be in a hurry but I know that cancer is still growing and we definitely don’t want it getting out of the prostrate. Pray we’ll get that appointment soon.

We have guest coming to the “blue house” today and they don’t leave until August 15, or maybe even later. There is one weekend they have to leave for guest that were already booked, but that’s it. We won’t make as much money as we would booking the regular rates but we don’t have to clean either. That’s always a good deal in my book. I’m getting too old to want to keep up with two houses…especially all the laundry on an almost daily basis. The guest house has proven to be an amazing business and so many great people have enjoyed using it. This long term guest booking may keep our regular returners from coming back, but we’ll see. Selling the business is still an option.

Guess that’s about it for now. Big things are coming up in just a few weeks…Meredith and Colton’s wedding. That should be a really fun event. They will be living in Oxford, Mississippi as both will be students at Ole Miss. She’ll be studying law and he’ll be working on his master’s program, along with teaching school. Their first few years of being married may get a tad stressful and will be very busy. Thankfully, they are both on full scholarships so they won’t be buried in student loans.

Have a great week…month…and I’ll be back on here when I have something to share. We have had both of the vaccines and for that we are thankful. We’ll continue to wear our mask and social distance, but we do feel we can get out a little more often…I want to see the family members we haven’t been able to see in over a year. Love to you all and continue to stay well.

Blessings……..
