April is almost over…

what a fun couple of days we just enjoyed. On Friday, April 23rd, we headed for Nashville to spend the night with Linda and Jim in preparation for the bridal shower for Meredith and Colton the next day. Linda and Jim are always so sweet to have us use their home as the best B&B in Nashville. It had been over a year, due to COVID, that we had gotten to be with them and catch up on what was happening in their world. We, also, enjoyed a fantastic meal with them, along with Meredith, Blake, and Grayson at a local restaurant that was fantastic. Jim is fully retired from Lipscomb and it’s been a good 40+ year run for them but they are looking forward to what retirement will now bring to them

On Saturday morning, George and I met Melissa and Meredith at the place the reception was being held…Meredith’s community room at her apartment complex…and we got busy getting it all together. Soon Tanya arrived, along with others, and it all came together without a hitch and five minutes to spare and it was beautiful. So much fun being with Lawrence, Linda, Buddy, the Crockett’s, Jim and Linda, Margo Black and two of her daughters and one small granddaughter, Kyle and Gabby, Jim Jr and Danna, Colton, and many of Meredith’s friends. Melissa did an amazing job of creating the menu and decorations so there would be nothing forgotten.

Once the shower was over, George and I headed to Alabama to spend a few days with Carter and Lori. This was a good four days of fishing, sunning, boat riding, eating lots of good stuff, and just visiting. Their new home is right on the water and is such a beautiful setting. We got to spend time there with Chipper, Marjorie, Jordon, Megan, Porter (Jordan/Megan’s baby), Jerry Page, Kelsey, and her boyfriend Paul. It’s been years since we’ve seen some most of these people so we had a lot of catching up to do. We feel so blessed to have been able to see family members from both sides of our families.

We are now back in Wilmore, all rested up. and caught up with the laundry and unpacking, and now looking forward to “THE” wedding for this year of Meredith and Colton. They started dating back in high school and are now both going to be attending OLE MISS this fall…she’ll be in law school and he’ll be working on his masters while teaching school. They are both super smart and will be on full scholarships…yeah for no school loans to have to pay back.

Guess that’s about it for now. I hope all are fully vaccinated by now so that we might get to see more family during these upcoming months. Pray for George as he’ll be seeing the oncologist on May 19TH so a treatment play will be determined. Have a great May and I’ll be back when I have more to share. Love to any and all still hanging with me as I seldom blog anymore.

Blessings…..
