I’m Finally Back….

Is June really 1/2 over?

The days are simply flying by and here it is the middle of June. We’ve been busy for most of the time since I last posted…that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it for not posting more.

George and I had a very nice anniversary dinner on June 8th and these past 59 years have flown by. He’s still my favorite person that’s walking this planet.

We have made several trips to Alabama ,and Tennessee, since the last time I posted on here. Our first trip down to Alabama was to visit Carter and Lori in their new home on Shoals Creek in Florence. It’s a beautiful home, and setting, and it would be a dream come true for George if we’d done something like that many years ago. Our next trip to Alabama was for the very sad occasion of Jordan’s unexpected death. There is no grief, I’m told, like loosing a child. I know the grief of loosing a grandson and it has been very difficult.

After such sadness, we went back to Tennessee for the wedding reception of Jerod and Rebekah…on the 11th of June. This was five days after their first anniversary and it was a very fun, joyous occasion. Covid may have dampened this last year and a half, but it sure won’t keep us down and out. We, also, got to enjoy celebrating Jim’s retirement from LU after being with them for 47 years the next day…the 12th. Again, a very enjoyable family celebration and seeing people we haven’t seen for years.

We got back to Wilmore on the evening of the 12th to enjoy our house guest that were staying with us because of their moving to NY the next morning. Bob and Kathy have been good friends for several years and we will miss them in Wilmore, but look forward to being together this winter while we’re all in Florida for several months.

George had his “gold” implants put in yesterday…15th…and will soon be starting his radiation treatments to eradicate his prostate cancer. Before they start that, we are headed back to Alabama for his 61st high school reunion with a small group of his special classmates. This should be fun and the tales that will be told may be true, but elaborated for entertainment purposes only. It sure makes a difference when you grew up in a place , attended school with the same ones year after year, in order to form life long friendships. I sure don’t have those relationships from my high school years.

We are loving these couple of days of beautiful weather. It’s been very hot and muggy for days but it’s now low humidity and acceptable temperatures. I love having the house with open windows, a nice breeze, and lots of sunshine.

Guess that’s about it for now. Please continue to pray for George during the radiation period, for Byron as he recovers from surgery due to him breaking his arm, and for all of us that are traveling. I miss seeing all of you and we have hopes of doing some more travel once the radiation is over. Love to you all.

Blessings……
