Past time…

We were suppose to be leaving for Florida today, but we now have a little kink to work out. George was diagnosed with COVID and has been puny for the last three days. He is improving and our departure time now is for Friday. Praying he doesn’t share this with me.

We had an amazing time in Vienna, Austria…from November 15-25th. The architecture is so beautiful and the fact some were built in the 1600’s made them even more amazing. We, also, did a day trip to Budapest and a little town called Melk and that was fun. We toured a monastery that still has 23 monks that actually live there and the place is enormous. The sanctuary was beyond words and it truly felt like a holy place. They have a co-ed school and the kids will ride the train…some come as far away as Vienna that is a 2 1/2 hour train ride…since they no longer board the students since it is co-ed. Five hours of every school day kids are just riding the train…not sure American kids would be that compliant. I’m sure they get their homework done, or maybe just sleep, so that once home they can do some fun stuff.

The breads and desserts in Vienna were amazing and I was so sorry I could not have enjoyed any of them. I was tempted to try some of the breads but then I thought better of it. I didn’t want to be stuck at the apartment while everyone else was out seeing the sights. The weather was not good…rained or drizzled every day,..but we just bundled up and went on out to have a fun time. It was very cold with the strong winds, and rain, but when you walk between 6-10 miles each day, you do manage to stay warm.

I’m now ready to relax, read multiple books, while basking on the beach. Please pray for our safety while we travel, for George to get well and stay well, for his energy to return, and that I stay well. You might want to add patience and kindness to be applied each day for me, too.

I know all of you had a great Thanksgiving and this was the first time in my entire life Thanksgiving was not celebrated with eating turkey. That’s an American holiday so there was nothing that even resembled that in Austria. Christmas is another story…they have big Christmas markets all over the city and we managed to take in three. We bought some food items but we didn’t buy any merchandise…no room in our suitcases for more stuff. The Christmas decorations were elaborate and beautiful everywhere. This entire trip was amazing and we are so glad we went.

Have a great week, stay warm, and pray we’ll get out of town on Friday. Love to you all.

Blessings…..
