Week one…

Tomorrow it will be one week that we arrived back in Florida. Fortunately the home, aka trailer, we rent is in decent shape and most all of the damage from the last hurricane has been repaired. The shed where the washer/dryer is located is still without a roof, along with the carport being completely gone, but the washer/dryer still work and we just cover those with a tarp when not being used. This entire week we’ve had near perfect weather and have gone to the beach everyday but one.

The beach is certainly not crowded as a lot of people either haven’t gotten down here or are not coming at all. There are still quite a few units here in this park where the people haven’t gotten back down. There are a dozen, or so, units that will be demolished and many more still being repaired. It’s so sad to see all the foliage, trees, etc that were destroyed and the permanent homes of many no longer livable. We’ve been told that our park has really gotten back together in just the last month and the many piles of trash was finally picked up…glad we missed seeing all of that.

I understand that tomorrow we’re to have some rain…which is needed…so our daily beach run may get broken. Other than the beach, we are not doing a whole lot. We’ve enjoyed visiting with our neighbors and friends, reading a lot, walking our couple of miles each morning, and just taking life easy. This is so out of the norm for me, but I keep reminding myself that’s it’s OK since I’m 80 and slowing down is part of the process of aging. We are both doing well with our health and that is such a blessing.

I pray for all of you daily and hopefully you’re staying warm, the snow is not too deep, and life is good for you. Have a great “hump day” and do something fun. I love. you all.

Blessings….
